ABOUT
Providing early care and a fun STEM experience while promoting the development of each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills.
TAME, Through A Mother's Eyes, is designed to engage youth in activities that develop their life skills, STEM and enrichment education, and social-emotional skills. TAME gives them the opportunity to get to know cultures, self-awareness, and respect for one another. Our youth will learn the values of community involvement, communication, and creativity. These values would be taught in a group setting and using STEM project materials. We encourage respect, friendship, diversity, individuality, and family. The youth will also discuss the challenges they have to encounter when making certain decisions and problem solving.
Our youth learn about respect, self-empowerment, etiquettes, and a host of other topics. STEM Education, role modeling, and community service projects are embedded in the program, while helping children to understand the importance of positivity. There will be opportunities such as trips and other formal events that take place to assist with the program.
TAME is committed to:
-
following the developmentally appropriate guidelines established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the State of Virginia Office of Child Care Regulations;
-
providing a healthy, safe and secure environment;
-
encourage each child in their developmental growth by providing an educational environment that encourages learning through fun activities, inquiry and exploration;
-
helping each child develop language skills which will enable expression of thoughts and feelings as well as an opportunity to increase knowledge;
-
promoting a good self-image in each child by providing an environment that encourages independence, decision making, and problem solving;
-
ostering an appreciation for the ethnic and cultural diversity of its families and its community; discrimination, in any form, will not be tolerated; and promoting a cooperative, informative, and respectful relationship with families.
